Men's Golf Honored with GCAA/Platform Golf Team Academic Award

NORMAN, Okla.- The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) released its latest Academic honor on Tuesday afternoon with the 2024-25 Platform Golf Team Academic Awards.

West Chester was one of 292 programs honored and one of 52 Division II squads to be recognized for having a team GPA above 3.0 in 2024-25. The Golden Rams had two players recognized as GCAA/Cobalt GOLF All-America Scholars last Tuesday, as Connor Strine and Ryan D'Ariano were recognized individually for their efforts on the course and in the classroom.

West Chester completed its second season under the tutelage of head coach Chris Merce in 2024-25 and finished seventh at the PSAC Men's Golf Championships with a 54-hole score of 935 (308-315-312) led by a 27th-place finish from Connor Strine with a three-day score of 234 (73-80-81). Merce also helped tutor Strine to an invitation as an individual to the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional Championships in May at Whispering Woods Golf Club in Erie, Pennsylvania.
