Carr Introduced as Women's Volleyball Full-Time Assistant Coach

WEST CHESTER, Pa.- West Chester University women's volleyball head coach Kassie Bellaver and Director of Athletics Terry Beattie announced the hiring of Mike Carr as the new full-time assistant for the Golden Rams women's volleyball program.

"I'm truly honored and excited to be named the program's first full-time assistant coach," started Carr. "I'm grateful to join this program in a full-time capacity and I have a tremendous amount of respect for the student-athletes, staff, and supporters who make this team special and I'm eager to help build on the foundation already in place. My goal is to bring energy, preparation, and a player-first approach every day. I look forward to helping our student-athletes develop not only as competitors but also as people and leaders," finished Carr.

Carr, who played collegiately for the Arcadia men's volleyball program from 2022-25 continued his playing career after graduation with a semi-pro career as a member of the Philadelphia Flight in the Volleyball League of America (VLA).

During his playing career at Arcadia, Carr logged 141 kills, including 101 during his senior season in 2025 after seeing the start of his career limited due to injury. He also contributed 42 blocks along with 69 digs, 19 aces (11 during his senior season), and seven assists.

Carr, who got his start In coaching as an assistant coach at William Tennent and Hatboro-Horsham, also has experience in the club volleyball ranks, serving as a head coach within the TNT volleyball organization.

"Mike brings a high level of enthusiasm and eagerness that will undoubtedly help us achieve our goals," started Bellaver. " Mike's own playing and coaching experiences prepared him for taking on this role, and I look forward to seeing him develop as a collegiate coach and mentor.  His awesome energy will have a positive impact on the volleyball student-athletes and enhance their experience at WCU."

Carr joins the Golden Rams during the 2026 season as West Chester pursues a return trip to the PSAC Tournament after reaching the PSAC Quarterfinals for the first time since 2022, a season ago.
