PLEASANTVILLE, NY – West Chester University's women's lacrosse squad continues its five-game road swing on Saturday with a non-league tilt at Pace University set to begin at 12 p.m. at Northwell Stadium.
West Chester (2-1) defeated Millersville, 15-9, on Wednesday in a mid-week clash. The Golden Rams and Setters (2-0) will meet on the lacrosse field for the first time since the 2023 NCAA Division II National Championship Game – a contest won by Pace, 19-9. The all-time series is tied at 1-1 with West Chester defeating Pace, 20-4, in 2019 before the pandemic in the only other meeting between the two.
Pace (2-0) enters the contest with a pair of wins over nationally ranked opponents. Saturday's contest will be its third such tilt in as many games so far this spring. The Setters defeated No. 16 Dominican (NY), 10-9 in overtime, in its opener and then downed No. 20 Kutztown, 12-8, last weekend.
WCU LAST TIME OUT …
Sydney Wasdick kept up the hot hand by scoring five goals and leading No. 11 West Chester to a 15-9 victory over host Millersville on a damp, foggy and cold Wednesday afternoon at Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium.
West Chester (2-1, 1-0 PSAC East) opened its conference slate with a win for the 10th consecutive year while Millersville fell to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the PSAC.
Wasdick and
Kendall Fortune each scored twice during a five-goal second quarter that pushed the Golden Rams to a 7-3 lead by halftime.
Still clinging to a vicarious 6-3 advantage late in the second, West Chester killed off a 2-man advantage for Millersville, allowing just two shots and eventually forcing a turnover. Wasdick converted the following possession into a free position goal with five minutes to play in the first half. Mortan Koons later came up with a big save on a free position attempt with two seconds left in the half to preserve the four-goal lead heading into the break.
PACE LAST TIME OUT …
Pace improved to 2-0 overall with a statement victory last Saturday afternoon, knocking off No. 20 Kutztown, 12-8, at Northwell Stadium. The Setters used a dominant fourth quarter to separate from the nationally ranked Golden Bears and remain unbeaten to open the 2026 campaign.

As a team, Pace outshot Kutztown 34-21 and held advantages in ground balls (22-16) and draw controls (15-7) in a complete team performance.
Camryn Smith played all 60 minutes in her collegiate debut in goal to earn the win, making two saves as the Setters' defense forced 23 turnovers.
WASDICK EARNS TWO ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HONORS …
Senior midfielder
Sydney Wasdick was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Offensive Player of the Week as well as
US Lacrosse Magazine's Division II Offensive Player of the Week this past Wednesday.
Wasdick scored five goals and registered eight points and scooped up 11 draw controls to lead West Chester to a 16-15 win over No.13 Adelphi on the road Saturday afternoon. She also added a ground ball and a caused turnover to her stat sheet. Her draw control after
Kendall Fortune's free position goal tied the game late in the fourth led directly to another free position attempt for Fortune which turned out to be the game-winner.
