WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University women's track and field team is preparing to return to the track this weekend in split squad action once again, as much of the team heads to Shippensburg for the Paul Kaiser Invitational, while another group will head to the City of Brotherly Love for the 130
th edition of the Penn Relays. West Chester will begin competing at the Penn Relays on Friday in the 4x100 and 4x400, along with the javelin throw, while much of the competition at Shippensburg, aside from the hammer throw and 10K, will begin on Saturday morning.

Katja Larsen (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) led West Chester in the 100 and 200, finishing seventh in the 100 in 12.37 seconds and 10th in the 200 in 25.32 seconds, while
Erin Gombert (Lehighton, Pa./Palmerton) was close behind in both races, finishing eighth in the 100 in 12.40 seconds and 11th in the 200 in 25.37 seconds.
Morgan Pera (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) and Leah Wasko (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe) both turned in top-five finishes in the 100 hurdles in 14.53 and 14.76 seconds, respectively.
Molly Minor (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial) took fourth in the 400 in 58.14 seconds, while
Cate Hildebrand (Chalfont, Pa./C.B. South) led West Chester in the 400 hurdles with a seventh-place finish in 1:03.71.
Cassie Nugin (Camp Hill, Pa./Cedar Cliff) paced West Chester in the 1500 elite division with a 13th-place finish in 4:39.42 as the top Division II finisher in the field.
Kristina Tapia (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) won the 5000 in 17:23.66, followed by
Jessalyn Welsh (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) in second in 17:27.74.
In relay action, West Chester won the 4x100 in 47.27 seconds, while placing third in the 4x400 in 3:55.42.
Emma Deyarmin (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) led West Chester in the discus, hammer, and shot put with an eighth-place discus finish in 114 feet 8 inches (34.95m), an 11th-place finish in hammer with a mark of 130-11 (39.91m), and a fifth-place finish in shot put with a mark of 37-9 1.2 (11.52m).
Kendall Thompson (West Chester, Pa./East) led West Chester in the javelin with a mark of 117-0 (35.67m).
Nikolien Bezuidenhout (Garnet Valley, Pa/Garnet Valley) finished third in the long jump with a mark of 17-11 ½ (5.47m), while
Emily Donegan (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) turned in a top-five finish in the pole vault with a mark of 11-1 ¾ (3.40m).
Bezuidenhout was also fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 36-2 ¼ (11.03m), while Wasko was fifth with a mark of 35-9 ¼ (10.9m).
