LOCK HAVEN, PA – West Chester landed seven players on the 2026 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) women's lacrosse all-league squad it was announced Wednesday afternoon.
Marissa Herring (Landenberg, Pa./Kennett Square) was named the freshman of the year.
West Chester (15-3) put three players on the first team All-PSAC East squad and four more on the second team in addition to Herring's major award citation. Seniors
Lila McMahon-Skates (West Linn, Ore./West Linn),
Sydney Wasdick (Pottsgrove, Pa./Pottsgrove) and
Madeline Edinger (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) were the first-team honorees. Second-team nods went to junior
Kendall Fortune (Jarrettsville, Md./North Harford), sophomore
Caitlin Trickett (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) and a pair of freshmen, Herring and
Olivia Reinhart (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson).
McMahon-Skates was the offensive catalyst for the Golden Rams running the "X" behind the cage. She led the Golden Rams with 90 points in the regular season – an even split of 45 goals and 45 assists. She also added 17 ground balls and caused 11 turnovers in the riding game for the purple and gold. Her 45 assists also led the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. McMahon-Skates is making her first appearance on an all-league squad.
Wasdick, a repeat first-team honoree, ranked seventh in the PSAC in goals per game (3.24) and posted a team-best 55 goals while totaling 72 points on the year. She ranked fourth in the PSAC in draw controls with 92 and picked up another 32 ground balls. She was twice named PSAC East offensive player of the week and even parlayed one of those awards into a national player of the week honor from
U.S. Lacrosse Magazine.
Edinger makes the jump to the first team after two years on the second team. She finished the regular season with 37 goals, 12 assists and 49 points. She picked up 31 ground balls and 18 draw controls while causing 18 turnovers in the riding game.
Herring is the seventh West Chester Golden Ram to earn freshman of the year honors since its inception in 1994 and the first since Kari Barnett in 2022. The rookie midfielder turned in a spectacular regular season finishing fourth on the team in scoring with 61 points while her 51 goals ranked third on the squad. Five of her goals were game-winners, and she added 25 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers with 11 draw controls to her credit.
Fortune appears on the second team for the second straight year. Goose finished second on the team in goals scored (54) and tied for second with 72 points. She potted three game-winning goals and caused 12 turnovers on the season.
West Chester landed a pair of defenders on the second team who each turned in outstanding campaigns. Trickett tied for the team lead in ground balls with 32 to her credit. Her 44 draw controls ranked second on the squad while her 22 caused turnovers was third, but just two behind her teammates who tied for the team lead with 24. Reinhart, a freshman in the back for the Golden Rams, was phenomenal in her first college season. The younger sister of former West Chester defender and three-time all-conference performer herself, Molly Reinhart ('20), Olivia caused 24 turnovers in the regular season – which led the team – and scooped up 22 ground balls.
West Chester and its seven all-leaguers will be in action this weekend at the PSAC Tournament semifinals. The Golden Rams will take on Slippery Rock Friday in one semifinal.
