NORMAN, Okla. – The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) released its latest Academic honor on Wednesday afternoon with the 2025-26 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Awards.
West Chester was one of a GCAA record 331 schools across six divisions to earn a PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Citation. 155 schools received Presidents' Special Recognition with an average team GPA of 3.5 or above in 2025-26. West Chester is one of 65 Division II programs honored, as 26 programs earned Presidents' Special Recognition while 39 more, including West Chester, earned All-Academic team status with a GPA of 3.0 or better.
This is the second GCAA Academic honor of the week for the Golden Rams as
Yamato Kimura (Kuwana Mie, Japan/Monteverde Academy) earned GCAA/Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors on Monday afternoon for his efforts on the course and in the classroom.
West Chester completed its third and most successful season to date under the tutelage of head coach
Chris Merce in 2025-26 as the Golden Rams captured their sixth PSAC Men's Golf Championship and first since 2018 with a 54-hole score of 891 (295, 299, 297) before finishing ninth at the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional Championships with a 54-hole score of 884 (295, 293, 296) in their first team appearance at the Regional Championships since 2022.
