WEST CHESTER, PA – Fresh off a 44-24 thrashing of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division foe, Edinboro, last Saturday, the Golden Rams return to Tomlinson-Fillippo Field at Farrell Stadium for Homecoming Weekend and its conference opener against Millersville University.
West Chester (2-1) enters Homecoming Weekend with a winning, or .500, record for the 18th time in the last 20 years and welcomes Millersville (0-3) on Homecoming for the second time in three seasons. The Golden Rams are 14-6 on Homecoming since 2005. In fact, the purple & gold authored an eight-year winning streak on the special weekend in the fall from 2013 to 2024. Last year's loss to East Stroudsburg put an end to that run of success.
Fans are strongly encouraged to carpool with friends and family also planning to attend Saturday's game and to
purchase tickets prior to game day. Plan to arrive early and expect delays. Ticket Information: All seats are general admission and cost $10. Seniors, students (K-12) are $5. WCU students are free with valid WCU ID (must present Ram ID card at the game). Children under 5-years of age are free. HONORED GOLDEN RAMS
Two Golden Rams grabbed weekly honors as a result of their contributions to Saturday's win. R-Jr., QB,
Colin O'Sullivan was named the PSAC East Offensive Player of the Week while R-So., PK,
Tommy Pajic was named the PSAC East Special Teams Player of the Week.
O'Sullivan finished 14-for-19 for 231 yards and two touchdown passes without any interceptions. O'Sullivan also added a rushing TD. When the dust had settled on the Golden Rams' win, O'Sullivan led West Chester to a score on eight of its nine offensive possessions. He completed 73.7 percent of his passes and posted a 210.5 QB rating for the game.
Pajic went 3-for-3 on field goal attempts and 5-for-5 on extra-point attempts to finish the afternoon with 14 points in West Chester's win over Edinboro. Pajic hit a career-high 45-yarder in the fourth quarter. He also was good on a 31-yarder in the fourth and a 20-yarder in the third. All of that was accomplished after being pressed into service when the Rams' starting place-kicker was sidelined with an illness and could not make the trip to Western PA. Pajic also put three of his nine kickoffs into the end zone for touch backs on the day. He averaged over 58 yards per kickoff.
Pajic's honor marked the second week in a row that a Golden Rams player earned the PSAC East Special Teams player of the week.
Bryan Anderson was recognized last week for his 66-yard touchdown return of a blocked field goal attempt against IUP.
THE MOST FAMILIAR OF FOES
West Chester and Millersville meet for the 93rd time in the all-time series and the 72nd consecutive year dating back to 1954. With the initial meeting between the two rivals coming in 1921, it is also the oldest rivalry on the books. West Chester's 74 wins are the most against any opponent in Golden Rams' history. West Chester has won 21 of the last 22 encounters with Millersville.
GOLDEN RAMS STINGY ON DEFENSE
West Chester brings the PSAC's third-ranked defensive unit into Saturday's showdown. The Golden Rams are allowing just 21.3 points per game and 275 total yards per game as well. Unfortunately, for Millersville, the Marauders rank last in the PSAC in both scoring offense and scoring defense. West Chester's stop unit should be featured in this matchup and should make things difficult on Millersville's young offense.
