Box Score Box Score

WEST CHESTER, Pa. -
West Chester University’s nationally ranked women’s soccer team continued its stingy defensive play by shutting out the Cardinals of Wheeling Jesuit University, 3-0, at the South Campus Soccer Fields Saturday.

The Golden Rams struggled to find the net early until Melissa McKeary opened the balanced scoring attack by notching her fourth goal of the year late in the first half. Within the opening minute of the second half, Carly Yost scored her third goal of the year. Sam Eddinger sealed the win midway through the second half with her first goal of the year. The Golden Rams spent the majority of the game in the opponents’ side of the field on their way to piling up 21 shots on goal throughout the game.

The win keeps the Golden Rams’ perfect record intact and improves to 4-0 for the season. Since the start of the season, the Golden Rams have allowed just one goal in 360 minutes.

West Chester limited Wheeling Jesuit to just one shot on goal, which was easily handled by goalkeeper, Shannon Fedyk, who remained undefeated in the net.

The Golden Rams remain at home with a match against Manfield on Friday at 1 p.m.
