WEST CHESTER, PA - West Chester University men's track & field team hosted the Bill Butler Invitational on Saturday afternoon on South Campus. The Golden Rams competed against Rowan University, The College of New Jersey, Richard Stockton College, Penn State-Brandywine and Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference members Kutztown, East Stroudsburg and Millersville.
Sophomore
Anthony Futrick (Sinking Springs, Pa./Wilson) took the top spot in the javelin throw for the Golden Rams with a 51.57m throw.
West Chester sophomore
Chad Mowbray (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) placed fourth in the 200-meter dash and fifth in the 400m. Mowbray ran the 200 in 23.02 seconds and the 400 in 49.89 seconds.
Junior
Chase Knorr (Birdsboro, Pa./Twin Valley) finished fifth in 1500m run with a 4:08 time.
The Golden Rams tied for third place in the pole vault with strong performance from junior
Andrew Puz (Exton, Pa./Bishop Shanahan). Puz jumped 4.40 meters to tie with four other competitors.
The Golden Rams compete again on Wednesday when they travel to Shippensburg for the Shippensburg Invitational at Seth Grove Stadium. Events scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
