Women's Soccer Selected Second in PSAC Preseason Poll

LOCK HAVEN, PA - West Chester University's women's soccer squad was picked to finish second in the preseason Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) soccer poll released late last week.

West Chester is coming off a 14-6-2 campaign in 2019 that saw the Golden Rams reach the NCAA Atlantic Region final following a semifinal appearance in the 2019 PSAC Tournament. Bloomsburg, which reached the national quarterfinals in 2019, was picked to win the Eastern Division. The Huskies received six first-place votes while West Chester collected the other three nods from head coaches. Defending conference champion, Slippery Rock, was picked to win the West.

Jenna Peters (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury) and Dani Cady (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) headline the returning scoring threats up top. Peters posted 12 points in 17 games while Cady led the squad in assists with five in 22 matches. Hayley McGee (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) is the most experienced goalkeeper returning. She was 5-2-0 in 2019 with a 0.97 goals-against average in 649 minutes in the cage.

West Chester opens its 2021 slate on Thursday, Sept. 2 at home against Holy Family at 1 p.m.
