LOCK HAVEN, PA – Senior attacker Lindsay Monigle (Rehoboth Beach, Del./Cape Henlopen) and junior goalkeeper Jessica Gorr (Exton, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) swept the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division awards it was announced Monday afternoon.iodnow

Monigle was named the PSAC East Offensive Athlete of the Week while Gorr was named the PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Monigle logged 18 points (8G, 10A) over the course of two West Chester victories, including a career-best 10-point effort at Shippensburg on Saturday. In that contest against Shippensburg, Monigle accounted for 10 points, scoring five goals, including the game-winner, to go along with five assists in a 21-9 victory over the Raiders. Monigle's 10-point outing is the most points by a Golden Rams player in a single game since Jackie Baker scored 11 points vs Kutztown during the 2009 season. Monigle is also just the third player in the PSAC to score 10 or more points in a single-game so far this season. This performance came on the heels of an eight-point effort by the senior last Wednesday evening at Mercy when she scored three goals and added five assists in an impressive 21-12 victory over nationally-ranked Mercy.

Gorr had an outstanding week in goal for West Chester, delivering a pair of 15-save performances in a 2-0 week for the Golden Rams. Gorr started her week at nationally-ranked Mercy on Wednesday where she made 15 saves and also came away with eight ground balls to keep the Mercy offense in check throughout the afternoon as West Chester rolled to a 21-12 road victory. On Saturday at Shippensburg, Gorr duplicated her save performance from earlier in the week, ending the day with 15 saves once again in addition to a pair of ground balls, which helped lead West Chester to a 21-9 road victory over PSAC East rival Shippensburg.

West Chester hosts Millersville on Wednesday afternoon at Vonnie Gros Field beginning at 4 p.m. It will be Lax4Life game for the Golden Rams, who will recognize that teenage suicide is a major concern in our society.
