McGee Named PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa.- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) released its women's soccer East Athletes of the Week on Monday afternoon and Hayley McGee (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) was named PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week.

McGee had two more great performances a week ago for West Chester, registering two victories and one shutout with 13 saves to help West Chester remain unbeaten on the season. McGee started her week on the road at Kutztown and played very well, making four big saves to slow the potent Golden Bear offense and help West Chester to a 1-0 victory over its rivals. On Saturday night at ESU, McGee played well once again, making nine saves and allowing just one goal, her first goal surrendered in three weeks as West Chester cruised to a 4-1 victory to improve to 8-0 on the season.

Saturday night's victory also allowed McGee to pass Heather Rinker for eighth in career wins as she registered her 25^th victory of her career with the win over ESU.

McGee and the fifth-ranked Golden Rams return home on Wednesday afternoon to begin a two-game homestand with a matchup against PSAC East rival Millersville at 3 p.m. before hosting Bloomsburg on Saturday afternoon at Noon.
