Last Time Out

West Chester put its 10-game unbeaten streak and five-game winning streak to the test on Wednesday afternoon at Shepherd, settling for a 2-2 draw, which extended the unbeaten streak to 11. West Chester found itself trailing by a goal early, but Lauren Reimold (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) got the match tied before halftime with a goal in the 34th minute before Olivia Conroy (Toms River, N.J./Donovan Catholic) gave West Chester a 2-1 lead with a goal in the 51st minute. Despite West Chester taking just four shots and only two shots on goal, it appeared as if this one-goal lead might be enough to leave West Virginia with a victory for the second year in a row until Reagan Ackerman scored the tying goal with under five minutes to play, forcing the 2-2 draw.

Shepherd ended the game with a 10-4 lead in shots, a 5-2 lead in shots on goal, and a 5-3 lead in corners. Grace Keen (Lincoln University, Pa./Avon Grove) worked hard in goal once and while her shutout streak was halted, the senior keeper still made three important second-half saves to help West Chester stretch its unbeaten streak to 11.

Victoria Pungello (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) and Reimold round out the top five with 10 points (3 goals/4 assists) and nine points (3 goals/3 assists), respectively.

In goal, Keen has started all 15 games and is 10-1-4 on the year with a 0.44 goals-against average and 50 saves, posting an .893 save percentage.
