West Chester Women Hit Four B-Cut Times and pair of Top 10 Efforts on Final Day

GAMBIER, OHIO – West Chester University had three swimmers post times under 2:00 minutes in the 200-yard breaststroke in addition to posting four NCAA B-Cut times and two Top 10 efforts on the final day of the Total Performance Invitational inside the Steer Aquatic Center on the campus of Kenyon College Saturday evening.
 
Freshman Greta Saville (Mordialloc, Australia) turned in a stellar runner-up performance in the 1,650 freestyle while teammate Ditta Kowalik (State College, PA State College Area) supported her with a sixth-place showing to lead off the final night of competition. Saville posted a time of 16 minutes, 53.22 seconds that qualified as a B-cut time and was the sixth-best effort in school history in that event. Kowalik touched the wall in 17:34.05 as well. Bella Kil (Enola, PA East Pennsboro) was fourth with another B-cut time of 2:19.79 which was 10th in school history.
 
Kil and Saville also made up half of the 400 free relay team that placed sixth in the final event of the invitational. Lava Piuva (Malmo, Sweden) and Sam Heiland (West Chester, Pa./ West Chester East) made up the other half.
 
In the previously mentioned 200 breast, Lenya Ryan (Wilmington, DEL Mt. Pleasant) was runner-up with a time of 2:18.24 while Molly Hubal (Archbald, PA Valley View) hit a B-time of 2:19.41 while placing third.
 
Michalina Jasinska (Warsaw, Poland) also placed ninth in the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:06.80.
 
This concludes the fall semester portion of the women's swimming team's schedule. They will return to the pool in January when they head to the Pidgeon Memorial and the PSAC Last Chance Meet on Jan. 17 in Newville, Pa.
