WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University men's golf team is preparing to return to the course on Monday afternoon for the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational at Penn Oaks. Monday's first round will begin at 1 p.m. with the second round on Tuesday beginning at 9:30 a.m. as the Golden Rams host their annual Spring Invitational in honor of legendary golf coach Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell, who passed away last Spring at the age of 103.

West Chester returns to the course on Monday after finishing seventh at the Battle at Rum Pointe on March 28 against a host of Division I foes. West Chester shot a 298 in the first round and a 304 in the second as
William Hilton (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) led the team with a 21
st-place finish and a score of five-over (74, 75; 149).
Evan Jozwiak (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) competed as an individual at this Tournament and completed the low-round of the second round for West Chester with a 72 to finish in a tie for 15
th at +4 (76, 72; 148).
Honoring the Legend
Monday's first round marks the start of the second Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational since the Golden Rams legendary mentor passed away at 103 last spring. Dr. Cottrell was a highly decorated World War II fighter pilot before serving as a faculty member from 1955-1979 and as the golf coach from 1958-77. Read more about Dr. Cottrell

West Chester will be joined by PSAC foes Shepherd, Millersville, and Clarion, along with St. Thomas Aquinas, Chestnut Hill, Jefferson, Goldey-Beacom, Wilmington, Rider, Albright, and Lafayette.
