Considered one of the most talented women’s lacrosse players to come out of West Chester University during the sport’s infancy in the early 1970s, Barbara Rensimer has gone on to become an icon in the lacrosse community. The three-sport athlete at WCU never lost a game on the lacrosse pitch from 1972 thru 1975, and the field hockey team authored a 33-2-4 mark in her tenure as well. Combined, Rensimer’s two squads posted an overall record of 55-2-4 during her playing days. She also played on the women’s basketball team at West Chester for one season. Rensimer was named first team all-college in 1975 after captaining the Golden Rams her senior year.

Upon graduation, Rensimer spent nine years with the U.S. Lacrosse team, touring the United Kingdom. She even spent one season as the women’s lacrosse coach and field hockey coach at Harvard University during the 1979-80 academic school year. Rensimer has taught health and physical education while coaching both field hockey and lacrosse for the last two decades. Rensimer has also been involved in officiating women’s lacrosse for the last 10 years.
