West Chester University’s strikeout king, who still holds the record for career K’s with 242. He authored a career won-loss record of 24-9 with a 2.69 career earned-run average. He was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division pitcher of the year in 2007 and helped pitch West Chester to a pair of Eastern Division titles (2005, 2006). The Golden Rams reached the NCAA regional tournament in each of his four years at the school, reaching the regional final three times. He was a starter on the 2006 squad that won the regional and advanced to the Division II College World Series.
He was drafted in the 23rd round of the 2007 MLB Entry Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays and began an eight-year minor league professional career as a left-handed middle reliever. He reached Triple A in the Philadelphia Phillies organization. On his way up, he was part of a pitcher-catcher tandem that consisted of two WCU graduates while pitching for the Reading Phillies. He posted a career record of 31-21 with a 2.72 ERA during his eight-year pro career. He struck out 449 batters in 477 innings as a pro.
